Secret sickness of PSUs

Politicians are interfering in everything  at the pressure of the vote banks

It is not that the public are innocent

They are lazy, greedy, crazy, criminal, irresponsible ,alcohol and drug addicted, immoral and politicians do not have the will to guide the public.

They just succumb to the pressure as the easy way out.

If the community, society, Country suffers they also suffer but they blame others

PSU ladies have been demanding 15 sets of uniforms and got it in one lot

And they are not wearing it!

Why to waste 15 crores of public money each year if they don't want to wear it

MTNL management being corrupt and vulnerable is held hostage by the militant and politically powerful unions

When the vice president of an especially violent political outfit lands with fifty or more goondas thunderously raising slogans, the rattled PSU officers go mute and succumb to all their atrocious demands

Should politicians directly involve in administrative control, when the need is to ban them from leadership of PSU unions

Ailing PSUs will sink eventually, as the politicians who ruin everything will escape with their cheating skills and connections but the society loses its wealth, loses confidence in PSUs and the hopelessness spreads

From good politics good society emerges

From bad politics bad society emerges and it is inevitable

It is like this only, the islamic and conservative dress code for women

 It is like this only

Women dress attractively and provocatively, to attract and instigate all and sundry It is a lure they lay out for the men, in the most basic instinctual way, the way animals do in Nature They want all and sundry to approach them and they crave to insult and reject. This is their dream. This is the main requirement. for them to feel good. That is why they reject all entreaties to dress conservatively

Now it becomes a situation of choices

There are men who can handle rejection. They approach, get rejected & go on to other women, until they get one. In any such case, everyone gets a woman if they go through a series of rejections.

There are other men who approach once and get dejected if rejected, they may not get a woman of their choice unless social groups put him together with a woman of their choice

Then there are men who do not care about approaching and approval. They just take the ball in their hands and play. wherever they can, in public, private, anywhere!

There are women who can handle the heat They can face it, fight it and win it. Gaining all the more thrill and strength to show for all the more fight. They choose to continue to dress sexily in public, whatever happens to others in news.

There are groups who do not care about getting arrested, paraded and prosecuted they continue to take the girls who attract them in their hands and play with them. Ironically. except in cases where the women like in India have vested interest of a windfall profit. the women neither complain nor prosecute, but they comply and indulge themselves

The girls who cannot handle such situations, choose to dress attractively only in familiar circumstances, where they expect to be seen by their target audience.

In places where strangers are crowding. they dress to cover up the features that attract men, and remain in the security of other females in a group.

Thus, it is a matter of individual motives, risk profiles as men behave in share markets.

Instead of women expecting all the men to follow morals, restraints and codes. of conduct that women conceive and prescribe as women for men, they can adopt their own risk faking profiles, after identifying through real life experiences and choose their dressing pattern accordingly.

Men, instead of expecting women to be explainable and accountable to men for their choice of exposure, they can understand women's natures, compulsions and motives and interact with women according to their own risk taking capacites in handling rejections by women who they get attracted to,by exposure. In the real world, women do whatever they want, do whatever that makes them feel good and empowered, competitive in the market for attraction, because men are there to fight for them and suitors are there to compete and

win them over.  Women will never explain anywhere, anything to anyone,  the why's of their exposing instinct.

It is their compulsion, instinct and privilege. They imply to men, " Love us or leave us & get lucky if one of us picks you".

Men can either  continue to fight the windmill, or comply, comprehend and behave by implication as women want and dictate

None can change anything. It is the way things were , things are and will be forever.

Mbappe better at theatrics than with athletics.

In the world cup final, he diverted the attention to himself by histrionics, by sitting in the court and dramatically refusing to leave, even after dragging the president to his side and despite his earnest urging.

So what if he failed, the winning team played better and deserved but he denied them their credit by being adamant and unsportsmanlike. His behaviour set a bad example of the spirit of playing games.

Dramatics are due elsewhere as a talent and not in the field of sports to defy the spirit of winning and losing as part of the game.

Hiranandani,an excellence in deception equal to their magnificence in construction.

Hiranandani,an excellence in deception equal to their magnificence in construction.

Compacting, compacting, compacting, this is our mantra sir, Niranjan echoes like joyful slogans,as he gets up , comes around and greets the visitors.

He is more handsome than Hollywood heroes, energetic, ebullient and his enthusiasm is phenomenally infectious. He is the true visionary of grand scales who can think up and execute magnificent projects of townships. He is as friendly as your best high school buddy about whom no complaint can be due or will stick.

But business is business. Business is cruel. He has to sell and sell to the most stingy and greedy customers.

So their short sightedness comes as a sales tool.

In the 450 acre Estate in Thana, the Ulhas creek in the East and the lofty Ghodbunder hills in the west are the pleasant and majestic selling highlights. But everyone wants the view and everyone cannot get it, as all good things are.

So what you do, begin the construction in the middle of the estate and sell the views. Once they are settled, slowly expand the construction outside, obstructing the view gradually to the inner buildings.

Begin the project as an elite, exclusive enclave but soon the hundreds of labourers employed in the construction currently and in the past settle down in and around the estate and before you know it, you are living in the middle of a labour colony.

Exclusive shopping complexes overcharge the residents because they were sold the property at exorbitant prices. But soon, due to political patronage, street side vendors occupy or encroach the roads just like any other slums, with tea shops, vegetable and fruit shops, the whole lot.

What is left, the traffic through the Estate includes the public transport from South to North of the Estate, through the Estate and no longer it is the safe place for walking it was expected to be.

Atul Grove Road How this is the centre of corruption gravity.

 Atul Grove Road

How this is the centre of corruption gravity

The name of Atul Grove Road echoed in parliament in the sixties first time for the alleged lethargy of government in not allotting the numerous British era bungalow quarters suspecting the hidden motive to allot for political affiliates.

Eventually that is what happened, for the last seven decades these sprawling quarters in the middle of acres of gardens and lawns remain allotted to the trade unions affiliated to one or the other national parties. Even though they are partially dilapidated, they are in acceptable living condition but except one or two caretakers nobody lives there in the four bedroom bungalows. After complaints, the unions make a show of using the bungalows by annually hosting an eyewash union function.

It is strange to notice that every six months or one year, the perfectly intact footpaths repaved unnecessarily spending crores , while tribal areas are denied basic amenities of roads, water, health and education.

One or two quarters get allotted to parliament members too. But one of them showed his power by shifting the three garbage bins to the next Street, half a kilometre away, depriving the entire residential community of garbage bins. He justified it for parking his visitors' vehicles in the no parking stretch of the road in front of his quarters.

A few of the quarters are allotted to board level officers of BSNL and MTNL because the pocket comes within the P&T enclave.

When you want to live near New Delhi stations, Connaught Place, India Gate, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament, Central Secretariat,CGO complex, Khan market, Lodi colony, Pragati Maidan, High Court and Supreme Court, ITO, Dariya Ganj, Chandni Chowk, Red Fort Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium, Jumma Masjid and so on, it is not wise to live in the middle of only one such locality, missing out on the equidistant access to all the other important and happening places.

Atul Grove Road, the unsung, unheard of road is one such central place providing equal access to the heroic places but keeps itself in the shadows, a perfect combination of central location and peaceful anonymity.

New Delhi junction 2011-2021

When at last I applied for change of quarters, the guy who has to do such things as showing the vacant quarters around took me to a first floor quarters touching the metro gate of JLN stadium opposite Dyal Singh college, and next to the bus depot and BSF headquarters in CGO complex area.

I found it damaged but the civil maintenance is expected to repair the damaged parts on allotment. But next day itself the guy told the quarters got allotted to a friend of Pachauri the HR director. It was told immediately after my visit, he brought his friend, was satisfied with the quarters and got it allotted overlooking my claim.

Later on the director called me for his own suggestion of taking over the type -5 quarters T-7 in Atul grove road, an L shaped road north of Janpath, connecting Tolstoy Marg and Kasturba Gandhi Marg.

At the northern end of Atul Grove road lies the ancient baoli bearing Maharaja Agrasen and at the southern end lies the Jantar Mantar complex. The outer circle of Connaught Place, Palika Bazaar and Central Park are within five minutes walk.

The New Delhi metro station and the Airport metro station are located within five minutes of the same circular area.

Straight north of Janpath via Tolstoy Marg and Maharana Pratap Marg also New Delhi railway, metro and airport metro stations can be reached through the Ajmere Gate, Ramlila grounds or Minto Bridge.

After Ramlila Maidan, in the east, the Asaf Ali Road takes to Dariya Ganj and Chandni Chowk, Red Fort and Kashmere gate up north and to Passport office, Times of India and Pragati maidan in the south.

A group of modern dazzling towers of Palika Bhawan houses corporation and income tax offices, right in front of New Delhi stations. MTNL Bhawan and Zakir Hussain College are located east of Palika Bhawan. Between Ramlila Maidan and Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium and Pragati Maidan are located many famous institutions and landmarks, like the Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital Maulana Azad medical college and hospital, Dental council of India, Nursing Council, Delhi Gate metro and, some more income tax offices. The immense BJP headquarters and Andhra Education Society building and DPCC offices are on DDU Marg .

On the other side, south of the railway line, Modern School, FICCI, Lalit Kala Academy, Mandi House, metro station, Dalmia House, Lady Irwin college are located before the ITO signal, where police headquarters and Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium are located. The trans-yamuna highway begins afterwards.

The much sought after Bengali Market, Banga Bhawan, Embassies of Nepal and Iran are located around Mandi House on the west side.

Between Mandi House and India Gate, Pragati Maidan and Janpath are located the Railway Headquarters,Patiala House court, High Court and the Supreme Court of India are located.

Andhra Bhawan mess is the mecca of all Andhrites for the typical Andhra food it serves. The crowd is to be seen to be believed. Andhra Government has a very large vacant land between Bahai House and Feroz Shah Road, on the south side of Canning Road.

A huge government office and residential complex is under construction from 2020, underway still in 2023, between AP Bhawan and Lady Irwin School.

On KG Marg, Asia House, All India Imam Organization, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, National Green Tribunal,External Affairs Ministry Hostel and civil services officers club are located.

Continuing growth of coaching industry in India

Continuing growth of coaching industry in India.

India has 1.5 million government and private schools with 50 lakhs sanctioned strength of teachers and 1200 universities in the government and private sectors. However, the most high profile entity dominating the landscape is a private coaching company with market valuation above twenty billion dollars. It is important to understand how the private coaching or tuition industry has become so widespread in India.

During and after independence, the education system in India was basic and upto the nineties the schools were the only centres of education. After returning from schools, students used to complete the homework and taking help from someone outside was considered a weakness of such students.

Tuition teachers were also considered as business minded and did not get much respect. But today the private tuition business has grown to be a parallel industry comparable to the main education system itself.

Today children rush from schools to homes only to hurry to the tuition classes.
Children in India start taking tuitions from the age of four onwards otherwise they will be left behind by other children, it is feared by parents.

The starting tuition fee for each subject is about four hundred rupees per month and can go upto 1000 rupees.
Alongwith school fees, the tuition fees combined costs 12% of the income of the lower middle class parents.
The private tuitions are bankrupting the middle classes while pushing the already bankrupt poor classes into indebtedness.
However, people have come to accept that private tuitions are the only way to good education for their children.

When the children complete 10th standard, they are compelled by the competitive environment to join the coaching for medical and engineering entrance exams for two years.
The more prominent and much publicized coaching is for the IAS ,IPS etc , in general for all the competitive civil services examinations conducted by the Central government and the about thirty state governments individually. The staff selection commission recruits upto clerical level and the Railway Recruitment Board recruits class IV employees too.
Tuition has become a more powerful necessity than regular studies and this need has been converted into a money minting system by the tuition and coaching industry.

Out of the twenty eight crore children in schools, one out of four, that is about seven crore children are dependent on tuitions. A child spends 9 hours a week in tuition classes, which is equivalent to staying in school for an additional one and a half days.

Among the states, West Bengal tops the private tuition scenario with 89% of students taking tuition from 9th to 12th standards, followed by Tripura at 87%, Bihar at 67%, Odisha at 64% and Manipur at 55%.

In tuitions, individual attention is given to each student in return for the money, the parents are happy about the good education their children are getting.
The schools usually have thirty to sixty students in each class and in such a crowd it is natural for the students to feel they do not understand the subjects well and their doubts are not getting cleared. That's why the need for tuitions has become imperative for good education.

There is another reason also, not significant enough to solve the pervasive need or problem though, that is the number of teachers not available for teaching due to the shortage of 17% from the sanctioned strength, about one on five teachers missing due to the government's lethargy in filling up the vacant posts of teachers.

The coaching and tuition business is worth 30 thousand crores, about four billion dollars, annually in 2022. It continues to grow at around 7% year on year.

Upto 12th the tuition is for good education, individual attention of each student by the tuition teacher for getting high marks.
But simultaneously, since the students want to prepare for the medical and engineering entrance exams alongwith 11th and 12th standards, they join coaching for this more importantly.
Some of them tactically skip the tuition for general subjects because they are aware that the 11th or 12th exam scores have no weightage in the medical and engineering admissions.

For M& E coaching the annual fees is around 1.5 lakh rupees and they spend three lakhs for this preparation over two years.

A global education census data says that 93% students in South Korea,83% in Malaysia and 70% students in Japan also take private tuitions. Compared to the nineties, it is clear that the private tuition industry has grown big worldwide.

Compared to global scale, India spends only 3.2 billion dollars annually in coaching industry, which is just 1.4% of the global investment or annual spending.

Abbakka 1555 Indian War Of Independence!

 _*Did you know this story?*_

👇👇👇

The year was *1555* .

Portuguese colonial power was at its peak in the 1500’s.

They destroyed Zamorins of Calicut.

Defeated the Sultan of Bijapur.

Took away Daman from the Sultan of Gujarat.

Established a colony in Mylapore, Captured Bombay and made Goa as their headquarters.

And while they were at it, pretty much unchallenged, they even ruined the ancient Kapaleeswarar Temple to build a Church over it.

Their next target, the super profitable port of Mangalore.

Their only bad luck, just 14 kilometers south of Mangalore was the small settlement of *Ullal* - ruled then by a feisty 30 year old woman - *RANI ABBAKKA CHOWTA*

Initially, they took her lightly and sent a few boats and soldiers to capture and bring her back to Goa - Those boats never came back.

Shocked and enraged, they sent a huge fleet of ships this time, under the command of much celebrated Admiral Dom Álvaro da Silveira - The admiral soon returned, badly injured and empty handed.

Thereafter, another Portuguese fleet was sent - only a few injured from the crew managed to make it back.

Then the Portuguese went on to capture the Mangalore port and the fort anyways, perhaps planning to tackle Rani Abbakka Chowta from the convenient distance of the Mangalore fort.

After the successful capture of Mangalore, a huge army under João Peixoto, an experienced Portuguese General was sent to Ullal.

*The brief was simple: Subjugate Ullal and capture Abbakka Chowta.*

The plan was foolproof- there was no way a 30 year old lady with a few men could withstand the might of an army of thousands with advanced weapons.

*The Portuguese reached Ullal and found it deserted. Abbakka was nowhere in sight.*

_*They roamed around, relaxed and thanked their stars.*_

_*Just when they were about to call it a victory - Mrs Chowta attacked with 200 of her chosen men*_

There was chaos all around and many portuguese lost their lives even without a fight.

General João Peixoto was assassinated, 70 Portuguese were captured and the rest just ran away.

*So if you’re Abbakka Chowta, who’s just defeated a large army of aggressors, killed a general, captured fighters and defended her city - What will you do?*

- _Rest and enjoy the moment right?_

- Right?

- No!

*_Rani Abbakka Chowta, rode with her men towards Mangalore that same night, and laid a siege of the Mangalore fort - She not just broke inside the fort successfully - but assassinated Admiral Mascarenhas the Chief of the Portuguese power there and forced the remaining Portuguese to vacate the fort.*_

She didn’t just stop at this but went on to even capture the Portuguese settlement at Kundapura, a full 100 kms, north of Mangalore - Just to make a point.

The Portuguese finally managed to get back at Abbakka Chowta by *convincing her estranged husband, ( a traitor) to betray for money.*

She was arrested and put in the prison where she revolted again and was killed while trying to escape.

*Lesson from story* : It is the local Indians, who themselves are responsible for slavery of our nation for 1000 years by siding with Enemies.

*Abbakka Chowta was a Jain who fought against the Portuguese for four decades, with an army comprising of both Hindus and Muslims, a full 300 years before the First War of Indian Independence in 1857.*

What did we Indians do to her, as a mark of our respect and gratitude?

*- We just forgot her.*

We didn’t name our girls after her.

We didn’t even teach her stories to our kids.

Yes we did release a Postal Stamp in her name, named a boat after her and erected 2 statues - yes just 2 statues in the whole of India for someone who should be our national hero.

The Indian Coast Guard ship ICGS Rani Abbakka the 1st of a series of five inshore patrol vessels built at Hindustan Shipyard Ltd is named after Abbakka Mahadevi.

We might have got to read a chapter about her in our text books, had she been a European or an American.

Many talk about her being the last Indian to have the power of the agni-ban.

In all this cacophony, our generation has lost a great hero - a great source of inspiration.

Still wondering why you’ve not heard about her yet?

Because people like you deleted and forgot it, please spread the message so that people can become aware of their lineage!

Difficulties of being saintly!

 The difficulties of being saintly:

Florence Nightingale 1820-1910

Tides of 1856 Crimean War

The military authorities angered by the interference of the Times, refused to admit that anything was wrong. The departments hastened to justify themselves.

When the emergency had passed, opposition to Miss Nightingale again arose. Admiration and gratitude disappeared and she was so victimised by petty jealousies and treacheries that she was miserably depressed and in the end obsessed with a sense of failure.

The high spirit and faith which had sustained her through the first months faded and she learned the powers of official intrigues.

We have to deal with men whose only object is to keep themselves out of blame.

Dr. John Hall was revengeful, powerful and a master of the confidential reports.

"Dr. Hall is dead against me. He descends to every meanness to make my position more difficult."

She was perpetually tormented by official spite. It was the defeat of justice by power.

Inertia was great, entrenched bureaucratic obstruction powerful.

She appealed to the sympathetic quarters of the war office.

But the Hall and Fitz party openly declared to root her out of Crimea.

And at last, on March 16,1856, a dispatch establishing her position in terms far beyond anything of which she had ever dreamed reached the Crimea.

1 CRORE AMAZON OFFER 135K

About the offer of one crore per annum salary, 100K stock option, 70k signing bonus in Amazon to an SRM student! A dialogue!

Yes, we are aware of it. 1 cr per annum -amazing.

Congratulations to Mohan!

Just add some context here and not to reduce his achievements in any way:

1 cr rupees per annum is equivalent to $130k which is a standard base salary for fresh graduates by Amazon.

And he would have been allocated Amazon stocks for another $100k that takes 4 years to vest.

Facebook and Google offers are much higher and difficult to beat when competing with them.

He shoukd have also got a sign on bonus of $70k that’s given out in two installments.

That’s the total Amazon freshman package

$130-135k base, $100k Stocks and 70k sign-on bonus

Mostly he will be stuck in this salary for another 10+ years , until he goes into MGMT.

Haha, it’s not that bad. They bump up if they do well. But he will have to put in lot of after hours - especially on calls at nights.

With this salary in CA and most Metrocities, he can barely *share* & rent a decent one bed room apartment.

Yes, absolutely. With apartment rent, car and buying meals - no savings in salary

Not sure about Germany

Same - very very high taxes in Europe.

In US, best is being in - good in own business - any business.

From laundry dry cleaning, owning chain barber shops to IT body shops, lots of money.

Agree, even if it is a small business one can do well because of the tax breaks and support. Only issue is hiring good people.

Yes

I met a guy , (when I landed here), running a hotel.

He had masters in North Western - much bigger than IITs. He quit the job , went to hotel. Another one selling Burgers in Mc ( a Wharton graduate Desi )

U need luck -

We can have all skills, hard work.

Still, luck is the very important thing in businesses.

Gujarathi’s who bought run down motels 20 years ago are making a killing by selling them now! To the extent of 100s of millions

Very enterprising enterprenars, high level of hard work.

My neighbor is the

India Grocers owner , US biggest chain of groceries.

Both he and his wife , built it big , their stores and other businesses.

She used to travel and run businesses, out of state for a few days every week.

Inflation in US is so high, in 3 months , consumables and general merchandise, exploded in prices.

I am not sure, it will happen in India .

This inflation is so high, the Indian middle class , can't handle, if it happens in India. If it happens, many middle class will suffer for food and basic needs.

Doctorate under Armstrong and Indian population soon to touch one billion. (100 crores)

Doctorate under Armstrong and Indian population soon to touch one billion. (100 crores)

Q & A\Dinesh Keshkar

Aiming and Flying High

Boeing India president Dinesh Keshkar is a busy man these days closely tracking the developments in the civil aviation ministry, Indian Airlines and Air India.

The run-up to aircraft sales can be trying . But Keshkar, who, incidentally, did his doctorate under Neil Armstrong, remains confident.

He sees the aviation market in the country as rich, and is optimistic about his company's performance.

In a conversation with Sangita P Menon Malhan, the chief of the global aircraft manuefacturing giant in the country asks about competition with Airbus the civil aviation policy and  the domestic market

aviation market?

We have been a part of this for 40 years.

In the last 9-10 years particularly, we have been the dominant player in the Indian market .

All the private carriers are flying only Boeings. The domestic market will grow. The growth rate will certainly depend on several economic factors.

But in India, with population soon to touch one billion, the number of people flying within the country is still only 13-14 million a year, which is very small.

If you look at it, many, of these are repeat passengers.

But the growth rate will come. And this is one of the richer markets to tap besides China.

We are predicting that roughly for the next 20 years, there will be a need for about US$ 20 billion worth of airplanes, that is approximately 275 aircraft. And that includes the 737 types. It is a good market, poised to take-off and it has been good, though growth has not been as much as we would have liked it to be. But it will possibly go up as the economic condition continues to get better.

What prospective sale do you antici pate to the airlines especially Indian

Airlines and Air India?

India has a need for many air

planes. The private airlines are expanding, Both Jet and Sahara fly our planes And even erstwhile airlines like Modiluft, East West and Damania flew Boeings, Coming to Indian Airlines, it is very well known that the airline has an ageing fleet of 737-200s, which have entered service over 20 years, to replace them, we have the 237-600. Boeing 717 is offered as a replacement for the 100-seater. Coming to Air India, evaluation of re- quirements is on. In this regard may I say that airlines have started flying the 777-300. This is an airplane in two classes over close to seats bigger than the 777-200.

AI was looking at this as a 300-seater. Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific are going to soon introduce the 777-300 into the Indian market Perhaps, Air India should take note of that.

The aircraft purchase campaign seems to have shifted from the MCLR to the short-capacity air lplanes at Al. In this context, is there a market in India for such a big airplane esperally keeping Air India's financial situation in mind?

Two things must happen if Al has to remain competitive. It must have a modern fleet, and to compete effectively, have aircraft that meet the cost targets of competitors Faring that, Al will not be able to make money even if it fills its plane to 100 per cent capacity. So it is for that reason that Al must look

at the size of an airplane: the size of a bigger 767 or the smaller 777. If Al flies a bigger plane, it will have the advantage of seat-mile cost. Its cost of operation per passenger will be lower. It will be able to compete. Al has a 747-400 which is the largest airplane anybody flies today. It can compete effectively because there isn't a better airplane.

Does Boeing have plans to help these airlines sell off their old aircraft?

Yes In our old proposal for the 777 that was given to Al in 1995, we offered to buyback the old air planes in return for Air India buying the 777. We know it has to replace the fleet and the airline does not have as much market access as we do.

How will Boeing help these airlines with their finances?

The only airplanes Al ever bought in this decade have been 6 Boeing 747-400s and all of them were financed by the Exim Bank of US. The financing was guaranteed.

Financially, we can assist any airline

Is there any truth in the statement that Boeing aircraft are fuel guzzlers compared to Airbus?

Fuel is an important factor in any competition. If you look at the existence of the Boeing airplane and the fleets of major carriers, you will see that in many places, the product had met that criteria. In the notion of fuel burns, we are head of Airbus. We have far more experience. And far more planes flying in the sky. In fact, several thousand more. There are over 9000 Boeings flying all over the world which is nowhere close to Airbus. We have sold more 717 alone than the entire Airbus fleet put together in the world. So, there is no competition when it comes to delivery. Last year, we delivered 564 airplanes. Airbus probably did not do even half of that. This year, we will deliver 620 airplanes. There is a clear-cut difference between our product line and theirs. Ours starts as low as the 100 seater all the way to the Jumbo. If you look at Airbus  range, their smallest air plane is the A-319 which has 126 seats and their biggest today is the A340-300 which has 300 seats.

What happens to your 737s?

Are they being used out?

The 737-200s are very much there. Some have been replaced by the 600/700/800 series. Then, there are cargo markets These airplanes will have a market as long as they make money. They can be converted to freighters.

What do you think of the civil aviation policy? We got so many airplanes into this country under this policy. But world over regularization and privatisation are preferred. US is a great example where the change in the policy of civil aviation led to a huge increase in the fleet sizes and better prices for the consumer.

How do you see domestic traffic in the coming years?

The capacity in the domestic market is coming. There should be a growth rate of 4-5 per cent every year. There is a direct linkage in the market growth for aviation and the GDP growth for the country.

Are you more confident than Airbus about catering to the requirements of Al and IA?

We have a 60 per cent market share. Our product is worldclass We are a 55 billion dollar company, in existence since 1916. And we dominate the Indian skies. Need I say more!?

Upgrade or perish

How to solve

Starting trouble in anything,

Form a habit, it becomes automatic then only.

Changes in Objective ,affect the routines.

Before getting posting order, I was pursuing it. After getting it I did not know what to do, this is the rule with all youth who chase a dream, when they reach the dream they don't know what to do!

Spiritual Sharpening or awakening consists of Reading Scriptures, Sacred space in TOI, Bhagavad Gita.

Emotional awakening Reading Daniel Goleman and remembering points to apply,

1.Flooding 2. Team mates.

3.Human Nature and adjusting to it.

4. Be ready to take on any eventuality.

5.Mental Imaging - where do I stand,

I don't know Marathi, I don't know transport routes, Market rates in Mumbai etc.

A polite and humble image - one who does not know anything important, treat this place (Borivili) as your own village and deal with people in a friendly way.

 Don't be tipsy!

Remembering erroneous zones : security people, conductors, peons, perverted officials, women, powerful persons,

When in the field you have to move to next action without lying down.

Urban middle class boys!

 10-6-99

URBAN MIDDLE CLASS BOYS ARE MORE AMICABLE, AMENABLE AND OPEN TO NEW FRIENDSHIP, OPEN TO PHYSICAL EXPERIENCES, UNLIKE THE LMC AND SLUM CLASS BOYS WHO ARE HOT TEMPERED, HAUGHTY AND VIOLENT.

Got the posting order after much persuasion, Chanda, Saha morose!

11-6-99

My woes not ended- as good as no post at all- no office, no staff, no vehicle only targets - demoralised.

12-6-99 Saturday

I started with entering 'suspension' in biodata. It snowballed into a punishment non-post. Adhikari harped on it. Others picked up. Now Saha tells about roaming here and there and saving. How many people will function as vigilance officers?!

Bombay is a complicated system. Travelling from one place to another requires so many clarifications. Likewise, every other aspect, even getting salary needs many travelling, moving here and there.

Life here is different and difficult and depressing.

Never worry about vehicle or any office support . It will be only a nuisance and burden. Better to move around and not to remain stagnant, use public transport, understand it and it may become friendly. But it is harmless and does not invite attention and envy and bad feelings.

After completing one work I am entering into another phase which requires some thinking only to plan the action. It may look like confusion, but it is only my lack of awareness. I am weak in assessing the present position, assessing resources available, where I want to go. If I cultivate this, the confusion will vanish.

Morover, I am getting nightmarish about travel and accidents. I must learn first aid and trained care, minor surgery, pharmaceutical licencing etc.

Crowd Together Astronauts of the world!

9-6-99

Yesterday in Times of India it is reported that

Astronauts in space flight gang up

 and have emotional interactions.

I could not believe it. Are they not h

educated and balanced people.

Are they not trained to be

in control of their mind and emotions.

From early childhood, I

could not gang up

or understand others'

ganging up. If it is part of

human nature, why it is not with me?

Why I Consider it strange and despicable?

AM I a born leveller? Up against any

system or mechanism that accords

power to some gang or to some group.

Or is it in self defence people gang up,

they invariably do making me to lose

 my cool on them.

Why can't they be independent?

Always they "Crowd Together", shout

 and monopolise,

I have seen such things only in low c

people and manual labourers.

Why people living on their knowledge and intelligence would follow such base habits?

The Competition for power, money and other desirable things make people to fight as a group, if the individuals are not confident of facing it alone. And

Time management of a day in life

 Time management!

 MNC, US west. Sprint

Many people are able to live with ambiguity and its related stress, I lacked this so far.

Do not expect to be written about that's not a requirement.

Publicity is important. But it need not be our purpose. Material security to our purpose.

(Later: Publicity is important for material security)

-1PM - Adhikari PRN Neelay Spoken to -

Life after "difficult times".

 1. There is no governance in India.

2. All fellows are crooks and worldly-wise.

3. Relationship has to be B-U-I-L-T AND K-E-P-T.

4. Consider all as teammates and cultivate.

5. Honesty does not requires any P-R-O-P.

6. Friday 4-6-99, the day I shouted at a security man is the last anger in my life.

7. Take the first step immediately, I-M-M-E-D-I-A-T-E-L-Y and pursue. You are not strong in important future oriented tasks,

8. You are now only starting the life after sickness, personal failures and departmental trauma - and you have no good habits.

Only brooding and reading they do not help.

The sermonising books also do not help.

9.Do not fight with DOT vigilance fellows, understand them -Do necessary work -

Begin with calling writing, referencing, & then CAT (TESA, ITSA, friends, batchmates).

P-S. As of today, the paradigm has further shifted, that if we are born, we are bound to live and that is the totality of life. Details are not matters for life.

6-6-99 Sunday

From morning till afternoon did not go anywhere, reading news only.

In the afternoon, went to Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

So much crowd.

Train is the only feature.

Forgot all about the rest.

Romance is a matter of timing, the girl has to give in before the boy gives up.

Evening went to Juhu by 203- upto Barfi Boad- it is only S.V. Road-going south on the way, Kandivili, Theatre Govasvadi junction, Malad Exchange, Exchange Quarters and GM West II, of Mahindra Garden, Goregaon, Cinemax, Jogeshwari Exchange, Andheri & JP Road Jn, HSBC, McDonalds, Andheri Station Barfi Road - turns left, again to right to ISKCON Road - To South Guru Nanak Road   Got down at Traffic, led to many problems in locating the stop in the return.

The Vinayak Temple has many visitors. Utpal Singh School - long and occupies the street.

Chandan Theatre_ ISKCON  temple- mobbed on Sunday esp. the Canteen - not able to track Juhu, Return by 298 to Andheri via a bus with I.M.A in background, the J.P. Road, AH Wadia School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan) Naurang theatre, Andheri market (missed 203, 5 times, not stopping), New Era Cinema, Gem Wines opposite Tana, R.K. Wine in Malad after Poisar ,

Bus too slow, came at 1040, started at Juhu at 0740, memory is so unreliable, repetition and association strengthen it.

When I wake up, if I think of results, I become moody and

unexcited(melancholic). Instead think of first steps, actions and important long term actions.
